Featuring Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit.
There has been a palpable air of excitement for the return of Queen Kwong to these shores over the past few months. LA's Queen Kwong, aka Carré Callaway took on Lon-don for a free 4 show residency in the capital earlier this year leaving packed audiences mesmerised by the sheer power and savagery of the band's superb brand of punk rock.
‘Get A Witness' is the second single from the eagerly awaited debut album that has now been announced for release on 28th August. The 8 track record was produced by Icarus Line's Joe Cardamone. One song per day from scratch, completely improvised. This un-conventional method was used to capture the rawness of Carré's songwriting and the spontaneous streak she is now renowned for from her electrifying live shows. The al-bum also titled ‘Get A Witness' will be released on 12" vinyl, CD and download.
Trent Reznor discovered the group's leader when she was just 17 and Carré has since been turning heads wherever she goes with unforgettable live shows and DIY releases. 2015 has already been an exciting year for Queen Kwong, selling out 4 London shows in a week, slots at The Great Escape, a special Maida Vale session for Radio 1 and the band are currently on tour in the US with infamous space rock band Failure by special invitation.
Queen Kwong has been championed by various DJ's with Zane Lowe choosing the band as one of his last ever tracks on his Radio 1 farewell show. Daniel P Carter kicked things off for Queen Kwong at the station early on with big support for the recent tracks Cold Daggers and Get A Witness which were championed right across the sta-tion's daily output.
Sultry and sinister in equal measure, Carré is joined on stage by world class, interna-tionally successful musicians - guitarist Wes Borland, bassist Fred Sablan and drum-mer Hayden Scott, who effortlessly create eerie swathes of raw psychedelic guitar and an absolutely killer rhythm section. This pedigree line up causes intrigue to many a rock fan, but it is Carré's uncanny gift to combine menace and sure-fire confidence that are leaving audiences wanting more.
Queen Kwong is due to return this August in support of Callaway's debut album ‘Get A Witness' and will be bringing their sleaze, swagger, noise and heart wrenching beauty to both Reading & Leeds Festivals on The Lock Up Stage. This will be the perfect chance to witness the quartet's visceral, primal sound that is fast becoming their trade-mark.
