ABSENT KELLY’S ROCK ‘N’ ROLL CLUB @ SURYA SATURDAY 25TH APRIL



Full Line Up: The Keyz, The Watermelons, Suicide Bees, Barn Society, Josh Massey, Hollie Thubron



Absent Kelly’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Club has a new home at Surya, bringing you live music and Indie DJs until the early hours.



Topping the bill The Keyz. Often been classified as “unique”, The Keyz cannot be pigeonholed but classify themselves as a mix of 70’s rock, Country and British Indie. The band have enjoyed lots of radio play including live sessions on BBC Radio Oxford and Demon FM Leicester, and received glowing reviews for their debut EP “Superstar Gazer” as well as being hand selected for an invite to compete in the Orange Unsigned competition.



Brighton boys, The Watermelons will be joining them. This quartet play super cool Indie Pop and are currently in the studio recording new material after a packed year in 2014. The band played all over the shop last year including a number of festival slots at Victorious Festival, Redfest and Jamie Oliver’s Big Festival and can count Tom Odell and Blur’s Alex James among their fans.



We will also be joined by Suicide Bees. This quartet are joining us all the way from Leicester for the show to treat us to a helping of their raucous Indie Rock and Roll. The lads now have their eyes on the Capital after gaining a name for themselves on their local scene, gaining local airplay and spots at well renowned local venues including The Soundhouse and the Cookie.



Joining us from the South coast are Barn Society. Barn Society are a five piece from Portsmouth who, after playing legendary venues in their own territory, including the Edge of the Wedge and Portsmouth Guildhall, now have their sights firmly set on the capital.



Josh Massey, a singer/songwriter from London who has been playing all over the city recently, showing the public what he’s got and will be doing so on this bill also. When you listen to Josh, you can quickly hear likenesses to many acts including Ed Sheeran, with his soulful voice. This talent has already gained Josh slots at some of the Capital’s fantastic venues, including The Queen of Hoxton and Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes.



Opening the show is Hollie Thubron. Hollie is a talented singer/songwriter from the outskirts of London, currently playing live around Capital, including at big venues such as the O2 Academy Islington.



All of this will be topped off by one of Absent Kelly’s resident DJs playing the very best of Indie Rock until 3am.
