DAVID FORD -THE ONE-MAN FULL-BAND SHOW



Having completed a hugely successful UK tour accompanied by a string section, timpani and tubular bells, award-winning songwriter David Ford takes to the road again but down a distinctly different track. David Ford brings his One-Man Full-Band Show to The Roadmender. This sees Ford take the stage alone for what he claims will be the most ambitious one-man show ever attempted.



David Ford has a fine reputation as a loop machine expert, stretching back to 2005 when his solo performances, layering multiple instruments and sounds to build full arrangements, caught the attentions of the music industry and the imaginations of audiences around the world. In 2008 Ford’s one-shot loop machine video of his song “Go to Hell” became a YouTube sensation, picking up over half a million views in its first week.



Now he takes the stage version into uncharted territory playing electric and acoustic guitars, drums, bass, keyboards, harmonica, vocals and all manner of percussion, seemingly all at the same time. While tour preparation for most bands will be done in the rehearsal room, Ford has been spending his days in a garage surrounded by power tools, building the new and unique machinery that will make this show possible.



As a proudly independent artist, Ford has built and sustained a decade-long solo career on the strength of his songwriting and on a powerful live show defined by The Guardian as “unmissable.” . As well as playing headline shows to his devoted and loyal fan base, he has toured with and supported artists such as Elvis Costello, Ray LaMontagne, Aimee Mann, Richard Ashcroft, Suzanne Vega, Newton Faulkner and Simone Felice.



Despite enjoying much critical acclaim during his career, the songwriter continues to fly below the radar for many, a subject he has documented in a book entitled, I Choose This – How To Nearly Make It In The Music Industry. Yet Ford's exquisite songwriting and unforgettable live performances ensure he remains one of the UK's most important singer/songwriters in the eyes of critics and genuine music lovers.
