Revoltage Presents Eva Plays Dead + Fake The Attack + Sirens In The Delta
About this Event
A British rock band from Nottingham/Derby, UK. Fronted by boss-lady Tiggy Dockerty and her punk tinged vocals. 'Eva Plays Dead' blend big riffs, infectious melodies and raucous energy. They have been referred to as the Midland's Joan Jett and The Black Hearts but EPD take influence from a vast range including Halestorm, Marmozets, Black Flag, Aerosmith, Queens of the Stoneage, LostAlone and Heaven's Basement to name a few. The first 2 singles lead to the band being featured on the MySpace homepage, the Muzu TV homepage as 'Muzu Recommends: Breaking Artist' and the homepage of Glasswerk, alongside a collection of support from radio stations across the UK, including Kerrang! Radio, and great reviews from a range of webzines. The debut album 'Guilt Trips & Sins' released in March 2013 through Artifex Records received raving reviews from a range of webzines and fans, including a 10/10 from PlanetMosh and the tours off the back of it have seen sold out shows at underground UK venues including Nottingham's Rock City Basement and packed out tents at several festivals.
”Bustling into the 'Eva Plays Dead' set a few minutes after it has started, we are punched in the face with a powerful fist of noise. On first impressions it looks like a Florence and The Machine that have kicked all the hippy bullshit and have been on tour with Motorhead for 5 straight years. Led by the punk tinged soul of Tiggy's voice, the four piece create a passionate sound that seems to flirt with several genres. There are obvious elements of text book hard rock with Matt's fretboard wizardry but then the savage echoes of a Rancid-like thrash in bass monster Zach's handiwork. The soul of Tiggy's voice seems to be top of the hierarchy however with its sheer velocity and at times seems to become a wee bit jazzy.” - LeftLion @ Macmillan Fest 2012”
