Rambunctious indie rockers with big choruses and pounding riffs. Return To The Sun Began during the summer of 2013. Emerging from the ashes of previous band Beautiful By Design, Stephen McCafferty (vox/guitar) and Alan Barbour (Guitar/backing vox) decided to dust off their guitars and make music together again. This resulted in looking for new musicians and after a few months of searching, Sean Ford (Bass/backing vox) and Nic Ross (Drums/Backing vox) completed the line up. Return To The Sun hit the ground running from there on in and within a month were in 45 a side studios recording what would become their debut E.P Eskimo bones which they went on to tour around the UK later that year climaxing at Glasgow o2 accademy where they played the main stage as part of the future fest. Drawing from a wide range of influences including Biffy Clyro, Cage The Elephant, Foals, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes amongst many, many more Return To The Sun have developed an edgy heavy indie rock sound with pop sensibilities which hasn't gone unnoticed having received airplay from XFM, BBC Introducing as well as receiving praise from NME and Guardian writer Izzy Sampson when she said Return To The Sun were "ones to watch out for". When on tour in 2013 the rambunctious indie rockers caught the attention of London indie label Animal Farm and in early 2014 the guys were down in London recording with the label. This concluded with three tracks, 501, Freakshow and Haze which are due to be released as singles across late 2014/early 2015. 2014 was a big year for the Edinburgh band having played their first two festivals in the shape of The Isle Of Wight Festival and the Great Escape Festival whilst also supporting We Were Promised Jetpacks. Return To The Sun have just got back from their second UK tour which took them from a Sold out show in Edinburgh to a sold out show in London for the promotion of their debut single 501. Exciting times are ahead for these lads and 2015 promises to be even bigger for Return To The Sun.
