David J. Roch returns with his second album 'A Cynic, A Realist, An Undertaker' produced by Jim Sclavunos of Grinderman and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
David's delicate melodies and melancholy words can paint an introspective picture in the way of a Simon and Garfunkel classic, yet then sometimes explode into a finale that is both cathartic and life-affirming.
The release of new album 'A Cynic, A Realist, An Undertaker' is likely to have the same effect on many new listeners as he had on The Independent on Sunday recently: "There are times when the only response to raw talent is to drop your jaw and go 'Wow!"
Proving that David’s music doesn't have a narrow or niche appeal, massive US TV shows 'Private Practice', 'Being Human' & 'So You Think You Can Dance' have all featured songs from 2012 debut album 'Skin and Bones' and led to almost 200,000 views for the title track alone.
Whether on record or playing live, David effortlessly conveys emotional intensity using a voice which The Guardian says "can soar to ethereal heights as effortlessly as it plumbs red-raw depths" and in doing so he finds the perfect vehicle to expresses his deeply moving lyrics and stunning melodies.
Produced in part by Jim Sclavunos, a man used to working with dark and powerful themes in Grinderman and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the new album fully realises David's songwriting and revels in the unexpected, utilising not just his backing band of multi-instrumentalists, but also a male voice choir on the forbidding 'Hell To Pay'.
"Breathtaking vocals and shivers down your spine, a must hear"

"This fascinating, extremely beautiful music"
Clash magazine
"David Roch serves up an attention grabbing mix of confessional, low key melodies with baroque arrangements that wouldn't shame Rufus Wainwright. It helps that his aching voice is a match for both"
Q Magazine
Live shows take the form of solo or full band sets and David already has two sets of North American dates under his belt. UK supports include slots for Richard Hawley, Grinderman, Ethan Johns, Josh T Pearson and The Kaiser Chiefs!
Mike Hughes www.mikehughesmusic.com
With his debut single released only late last year, Mike Hughes has already risen to national attention, winning plaudits and radio play from the likes of Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2), Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2 & 6Music), and Cerys Matthews (BBC Radio 6music).
With a percussion heavy sound set against layered, rapturous vocals, Mike has created his own trademark sound, perhaps best described as ‘Apocalyptic Gospel Blues’. Mike is currently in the studio recording his full length debut album with producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, MIA), due for release later this year.
Fluent In Grey www.fluentingrey.com
Fluent in Grey came to life in 2014 when singer-songwriter, Anna Marcella, joined forces with producer and guitarist, Simon Langford, to create a new project that captures an alternative feel mixed in with elements of electronic and indie pop music. The combination of Anna's catchy melodies and soft vocal style, paired with Simon's edgy and ambient production, creates a beautiful sound that ebbs and flows between dark and light, giving weight to the name, Fluent in Grey. Marco Italia brings in a heavy bass to compliment the atmospheric rhythm played by Phil Page, producing a deep groove that sits perfectly underneath the atmospheric and catchy melodies.
