MiNT Festival Invest £5 Million in a Permanent Home

Created by Leeds’s own clubbing brand, MiNT have hosted one of the most popular dance music festivals in the UK for ten years now. MiNT has continued to grow each year, previously welcoming sets from the likes of Patrick Topping, Claptone, Gorgon City and Seth Troxler across Mint's four stages, and has featured hosts as respected as Elrow and underground crew FUSE.

In the past, MiNT has floated around the North-East of England, bringing end-of summer vibes to spaces including RAF Church Fenton at Leeds East Airport, Stockeld Park, and The Tetley Brewery. However, due to the festival’s increasing popularity, MiNT has recently relocated to the beautiful Newsam Green Farm. Just ten minutes from Leeds city centre, Newsam Green Farm comprises a farmhouse, 123 acres of grassland and woodland, plus the added bonus of unique Leeds City centre views.

Promoters have invested £5 million into the historically significant site and have promised to incorporate as many of the existing elements as possible. Baz Arjomand, the festivals’ co-owner has said that “our long-term vision for the farm is to continue to develop the concept whilst trying to maintain as many of the original natural features on the site as possible… By purchasing our own venue, it allows us to invest in the long-term infrastructure, providing purpose-built arenas with incomparable sound quality – something that the MINT brand prides itself on”.

Shane Graham, the festival’s founder, added: “We are extremely happy to have acquired the Farm; not only is it 10 minutes out of the city centre, but it also boasts acres of greenery, woodland and amazing views that make the perfect background for a Music Festival. Now that we have a permanent home, we can channel our energies into developing the amazing features and make sure Leeds is home to one of the best festival sites in the UK!”

In an industry plagued with economic uncertainty, it is great to see that the UK festival scene is still flourishing. Now is the perfect time for festivals to reflect, innovate, and invest, and we cannot wait to see what happens in the industry next!

This years’ line-up is TBA, but you can join the waiting list here.
