Nass Festival 2017

Nass Festival returns this summer from the 6th to the 9th of July. Get yourself down to Somerset (near Bristol) for a hard weekend of high octane sports, loud music and late nights. Join a crowd consisting of all the usual raver types as well as athletes and adrenaline junkies going to party shoulder to shoulder. Whether you’re in the thick of the mosh pit at the main stage or taking in some of the wild sports spectacles from world class skateboarders and BMX riders, there is well and truly something for everyone. In a prime location at the Royal Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, Nass is easily accessible for most. For plenty of travel options for the majority of UK locations check the general information page in the link bellow.

Who’s Playing This Year

This year’s line-up has plenty of promise. Top of the bill, two of the biggest names in the US hip-hop scene will be performing together at Nass. Method Man (of Wu-Tang Clan fame) and Redman (of Def Squad) have a long history together reaching back decades. Now signed to the Def Jame Records label as a duo the two have a couple of studio albums to their names bringing together the elements we love of both groups. Electronic royalty Pendulum will be appearing at Nass. Known for their characteristic mix of drum n bass, electronic sounds and contemporary rock the group burst on to the scene before going their separate ways some years ago . After a while out of the spotlight we at Licklist are looking forward to the groups return. Considered one of the forefathers of the grime movement in this country, Kano will also be headlining. The rapper has been a massive influential force in this country since his hit ‘P’s and Q’s’ became an underground hit in the grime community. Since then his career has gone from strength to strength including a feature role in TV success ‘Top Boy’; his performance this summer is sure to be the latest in a career full of highs. Rapper on the rise Giggs will also be appearing. With last year’s fourth studio release ‘Landlord’ reaching second place in the UK charts to critical acclaim, Giggs is quickly becoming one of the biggest rappers in this country. In the same vein, London rapper Wiley will also be perfoming at Nass this summer. As another influential figure in the rapidly expanding grime movement in this country, Wiley has 11 studio albums to his name. His latest release ‘Godfather’ out earlier this year was well received by critics and fans alike. We look forward to seeing what he does with his set. With these acts and so many more, the full line up is well worth a quick browse.

Sports and Art Events at Nass

On top of all of this great music Nass is well known for its skate and BMX showcases. Over the course of the July weekend, international athletes will compete both for bragging rights and real world titles. The Nass set up will include a 15ft Vert Ramp (the tallest in Europe) as well dirt jumps, a pro park, public courses and ramps and street sports. Arts also have a place at Nass. Street artists will be present and painting across the festival. Check out the BMX and Skate links bellow to know all that’s happening.
