Pure Bliss! Blissfields ’17

Are you ready for the good, the bad, and the bizarre? Then get ready for Blissfields, taking place between 6-8 July at Vicarage Farm in Hampshire!

Who’s Playing?

This year, as always, we’ll be blissed out with an incredible lineup on all three days. DJ Yoda presents Stranger Things on Thursday, The Cinematic Orchestra will blow us away on Friday (remember the ending to The Theory of Everything? Our tears still haven’t dried), and Saturday’s headliner Metronomy will get us going with their Old Skool beats.

As well as those magnificent headliners, we’ve got five stages, and acts to fill them! Catch Lady Leshurr, Black Honey, and Beans on Toast at Theatre of the Bizarre; DJ Luck & MC Neat, Savage Disco, and Flamingods at Larch; 808INK, Jamz Supernova, and Sian Anderson at Blisscotheque; and Dead Horse Gang, Honey Club DJ’s, and The Little Festival Takeover at The Bay. We’ve also got Hidden Hedge, split into the extraterrestrial Area 51, where you’ll see Delta Heavy, The Upbeats, and Insideinfo; Mile High, where you can cruise into Chromatouch, Seb Marx, and Mystic Messenjah; and Theatre, with Airfish Aerial and Fire, Doris Dodo’s Oblichuary Office (obligatory), and Red Rash Inn.

Activities

At Amoeba to Zebra, also known as A 2 Z, you’ll find a variety of activities to suit all your festival needs. It’s split into Home of the Unknown — which is actually home to activities including Musical Bingo, Board Game Bonanza — and The Backyard, where you’ll find Disco Yoga, Extreme Sports, and — our favourite — Outdoor Games hosted by James Loveridge. Fun times all ‘round!

Beyond A 2 Z, the Fields are set up with a smorgasbord of food, drinks, and craft stalls. Need a burrito, a coffee, or a logo tee? We’ve got you covered.

Themes

According to festival organisers, this year’s celebration will be ‘a tunnel through the fantastic, via fantasy and freakshow,’ where attendees ‘will see the festival celebrate and fearfully poke the unknown.’ We can get with it. The Twilight Zone theme will extend to creatures, ambassadors, and accidental travellers. Which will you be? Maybe we should come up with a secret handshake, so we’ll recognise you when you’re there ...
