We are Fest (The Return)

We are Fest

So the bank holiday weekend may be over and you may be wallowing in your own self pity as you vaguely try to remember what went down between the early hours of the morning.  You’ve learnt the hard way that downing a few too many jaegers is never a good idea (don’t worry we’ve all been there) but don’t let that dampen your mood. This weekend sees the return of the best dance festival Essex has ever seen - We are Fest. A two day festival taking place over the 30th and the 31st of May with some of the best DJ`s and dance artists from around the globe descending on the only county in the country who really know how to party hard.  We can also do a pretty sick vajazzle if anyone’s interested?

Line Up

So it’s a festival in a field in the relatively quiet town of Upminster in Essex. I would forgive you for thinking the headlining act could be a couple from the 80`s making their first appearance in 40 years, I mean it’s no Glastonbury right? Well actually you’re wrong! If the only thing you thought Essex was capable of was looking reem then you would be wrong, although we are a rather good looking bunch it has to be said. Turns out we’ve only gone and exceeded anyone’s expectations by pulling off a huge dance festival with artists such as Knife Party, Hannah Wants and MK taking to the stage. As long as Joey Essex isn’t involved it should all run smoothly. The festival offers several stages and tents including the main stage, hospitality and used and abused. Saturdays main stage sees the likes of Gorgon City, Hot Since 82 and MK, with Sundays main stage being graced by Knife Party, Route 94 and Oliver Heldens just to name a few. Over the weekend you can expect performances from huge dance artists including Waze & Odyssey, Wankelmut, Steve Aoki, Carl Cox, Gotsome and a load more to feast your eyes and ears on.

Location Location

I may be a little biased seeing as I am an Essex girl but seriously, Essex knows how to throw a good party and We Are is no exception. The festival is situated at Damyns Hall, a large aerodrome on the outskirts of Upminster but don’t worry I promise you won’t be taken down by a jumbo jet. A Coach Service is available and has pick up points from several different major towns and cities over the UK making it very easy to travel to and from the festival no matter where you are. The national Rail service are offering extra late running trains on both Saturday and Sunday to make sure everyone makes it home safely and soundly, being stranded on the platform is never a good look and platform 9 and ¾, well it doesn’t really exist!

Drop It like its Hot

This weekend’s gonna be a hot one and I’m not talking about Dan from Towie wandering around in his shorts, I’m talking about the weather, obviously. Glastonbury may be mud galore but We Are Fest is a much more sophisticated affair, who’d have thought it eh. The weather is said to be hot and sunny meaning oversized sunnies, floppy hats, flower garlands and even face stickers are totally acceptable and quite frankly completely necessary.  Just don’t blame me if it chucks it down, blame the weather woman on the BBC.

All tickets will sell out this week so don’t hang about with this one.  Get online and book your tickets, this is one Essex party you don’t want to miss out on, and if you’re really lucky you may even spot Mr Essex himself!
