This is a typical O'Neills. Yes, it's noisy; people are having fun and being loud but they're not hurting anyone. Yes, it's cheap; it's not as cheap as Wetherspoons but the quality of the drinks is disproportionately higher. Yes, it's an 'irish pub' that may or may not be as it claims, but ultimately you know what you're getting with this place. Some staff are great and some are lackluster, but that's chains for you.
The live music is good, but it starts far too late: 10:30pm should be the start of Act 2, not the opener. Also, this month at least, there's no indication of who's playing on a given night. The pub hasn't retained the homely charm it once boasted, but it keeps consistent.
