Let's kick axe!
Just in case darts, poole, and maybe the occasional game of pinball isn’t quite cutting it anymore, there’s a new popular pub pastime. But this one’s a little more wild.
Bad Axe Throwing is a brand new company that are taking the capital by storm. The first company in the UK to offer Londoners the chance to hurl proper real-life axes at a target whilst, even whilst *drinking*, Bad Axe was founded by CEO Mario Zelaya in the autumn of 2014. The first doors opened were in Burlington, Ontario – since then, they’ve expanded to over 40 sites across Canada and the US!
The outlets at London’s BOXPARK venues in Croydon and Wembley are their first foray into the UK market. Their aim is to usher in the dawn of a new age; an age where this traditional Canadian backyard pastime can be loved and appreciated by urban communities all around the globe. With the help of talented axe throwing coaches, thousands of people have been able to experience the exhilaration of throwing their first axe - it could be your turn next.
London’s BOXPARKS are a familiar sight for most Londoners. With locations in Wembley, Shoreditch, and Croydon, BOXPARKs are places to eat, shop, drink, and even join in a pub quiz or watch the footies or get your hair cut, if that’s what you fancy.
With its own craft beer and wine bar, Bad Axe has styled itself as a premier stag and hen do destination, as well as a place for birthday parties and corporate events. Or even just a space to catch up with your mate’s post-lockdown. Personally, it sounds like the ideal date night ice-breaker to me.
Axe throwing is all set to be the next big trend on all your socials, so be sure to get your butt down to Croydon or Wembley to get your next adrenaline fix. That’s one way to combat post-lockdown stress! Bookings for Bad Axe Throwing in BOXPARK’s Croydon and Wembley can be made online via the website here. There’s also walk-in availability which can be seen on the locations’ page.
