It might well be the place that you discover your favorite artist so get yourself booked in as tickets are now on sale.
Who Is Playing This Year…
It’s safe to get excited as this year’s line up might just be the best ever. With alternative acts, rock and indie artists, grime and so much more Great Escape caters for all.
Top of the bill is singer-songwriter and general extraordinaire Lewis Capaldi. The Scottish rising star has been making waves since his 2017 debut single ‘Bruises’, an intimate and brooding account of a broken relationship. Since then he has gone from strength to strength with hits such as ‘Lost On You’ and ‘Rush’. With his debut album ‘ Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’, dropping just after the festival, lucky attendees can expect some of the first live performances of his new material.
For all you grime fans, one of the fastest climbers on the scene, AJ Tracey will be playing the festival. The West London rapper boasts a stunning skillset of clever verbal flow and sharp delivery in his newly released self-titled debut studio album ‘AJ Tracey’. Breathing fresh life into the genre, Tracey is quickly collecting accolades such as GRM daily track of the year for his single ‘Butterflies’ in collaboration with fellow rapper Not3s. As one of the most talked about grime artists post Stormzy his set is sure to be the latest in a string of successes.
Next on the list Kara Marni will be showcasing her impressive R&B stylings. The London singer has wowed fans and critics alike with her soulful vocals. Despite being only 21 years old, Marni has been compared to industry legends such as Amy Winehouse and Aretha Franklin. The streaming sensation has averaged 350,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Catch her this May before she skyrockets.
Out of Leicester the 5 piece band Easy Life will be demoing their skill set for all you lucky few. The group bonded over their collective love of everything for hip hop to indie music in school and have since built an impressive eclectic sound with which fans of Jamie-T, Outkast and Beastie Boys will instantly feel at home. Their first release ‘Pockets’ is an expression of the humdrum nature of middle England life demonstrated through a slow hip-hop groove that is sure to bury itself into your head.
For all these incredible artists plus so many more get yourself down to Brighton this May. You will not be disappointed.
