Top 10 Festivals for 2019

Top 10 Festivals for 2019

When it comes to music festivals, the UK's offering is among the best in the world. People travel from far and wide to party in the fields of Manchester, Somerset, even Essex! What's the point in jetting off to (admittedly) sunnier climes, when some of the world's leading festivals are literally on your doorstep? Here's our pick of the top 10 festivals for 2019...

1. Glastonbury, 26th-30th June

Frankly, it would be a crime against nature if any other festival beat Glasto to the top spot. Long regarded as the crème de la crème of music festivals, attending Glastonbury is often thought of as a rite of passage: once you've done Glasto you've done them all. This year's lineup is yet to be announced, but with previous headliners including Stormzy, Ed Sheeran and Queen B herself, we're sure this year's offering won't disappoint.

2. Reading & Leeds, 23rd-25th August

The legendary Reading & Leeds Festivals are undoubtedly among the best music festivals on the planet. With industry-leading artists from across the globe playing each year across the August Bank Holiday weekend, it's no wonder that this infamous duo is among the UK's most popular festivals. Heading to Reading this year? Expect The 1975, Post Malone, Bastille, Twenty One Pilots and more.

3. Parklife, 8th-9th June

Like chips and gravy, Parklife Festival is one of Manchester’s pride and joys. One of the only festivals to have to change venues due to popular demand, Parklife consistently brings the biggest and best in new dance music to the fields of Manchester. This year's lineup includes none other than Cardi B, George Ezra, Disclosure, Khalid and Chase & Status, with special guests still to be announced. Stay tuned!

4. SW4, 24th-25th August

South West Four is one of the capital's favourite festivals, hitting Clapham Common every August Bank Holiday weekend. Famed for its diverse lineups, SW4 showcases the best in EDM, house, techno, drum and bass and more, and 2019's festival is no exception, with artists including Armand Van Helden, Basement Jaxx, Craig David, Martin Garrix and Sigma.

5. We Are FSTVL, 24th-26th May

For an Essex experience like no other, the only way is We Are! As one of the UK's premier dance music festivals, We Are FSTVL is home to a top-tier lineup of house, techno, drum and bass and more. 2019 sees We Are FSTVL come back with a bang, with headliners including Big Shaq, Gorgon City, MK, Sam Divine and Tom Zanetti. Get ready for 48 hours of unapologetic raving!

6. Creamfields, 22nd-25th August

Creamfields is without a doubt one of the nation's favourite music festivals. As the ultimate (and first) four-day dance music festival, Creamfields certainly has a reputation to uphold, and 2019's lineup does not disappoint. Look forward to sets from Faithless, Marco Carola, Oliver Heldens, Pete Tong and Tiesto. Dreamy!

7. Boomtown, 7th-12th August

As a reggae, roots and bass-driven music festival, Boomtown does exactly what it says on the tin. A four-day annual music festival entering its tenth year,  BoomTown has evolved from a humble village fair into a fully immersive festival celebrating a dizzying kaleidoscope of musical talent. Performers include Chase & Status, Eats Everything, Groove Armada and the original sass queen, Ms. Dynamite herself.

8. Lovebox, 12th-13th July

Founded by DJs Groove Armada, it's no wonder that Lovebox is one of London's hippest summer music festivals. Wholly committed to good times, great vibes and fresh music, Lovebox showcases artists from the worlds of house, techno, hip-hop, R&B and grime across the weekend. 2019 is looking big, with sets from Annie Mac, Chance the Rapper and Solange.

9. Camp Bestival, 25th-28th July

Affectionately known as the "little sister" of Bestival, Camp Bestival is a British music festival that is entering its eleventh year of entertainment. But don't be fooled, Camp Bestival's "little" sibling status is not reflected in its musical offerings. This year's lineup includes Nile Rogers, Jess Glyne, Big Shaq and Vengaboys. Impressive!

10. Download, 14th-16th June

Download Festival is the holy grail for all UK metalheads and rock fans. Arguably the world's greatest rock and metal music festival, Download's five stages pack in everything from metal to punk, with 2019 headliners including legendary acts like Def Leppard, Slipknot, Slash and Slayer, who are playing their final ever UK show. That's not an opportunity to be missed.

We hope we've proved that whatever your musical style, there's a UK festival to suit. Summer is soon approaching and tickets are selling fast, so head over tohttps://licklist.co.uk/festiva ls for more information. See you in the fields!
