5 reasons to go to Lovebox Festival
UK’s favourite dance festival is back and ready to put on another party extravaganza. That’s right, it’s time for Lovebox! Taking over Victoria Park in London from 15th-16th July, everyone has already gone crazy about the acts taking centre stage this year, and tickets are running short. So if you’re still a bit undecided or are looking for a fabulous festival weekend, we’ve come up with 5 reasons why you should come along.
1. The Line-up
Lovebox is, and always has been, a festival for those who love infectious dance music with a bit of rap mixed in the middle. So it’s a good thing that this year’s line-up is not going to disappoint!
Over the two days you can expect to see exceptional sets from Katy B, Major Lazer, Run the Jewels, Stormzy, MØ, Diplo, Hannah Wants, Heidi, Goldie, Jack Garratt, LCD Soundsystem and so many more that we couldn’t possibly begin name them all.
With a combination of artists like this, you can ensure that they’ll be enough classic tunes to keep you entertained all weekend. And you never know, you just might discover the next big thing by a band you’ve never even heard of before. Lovebox is a great place to make some great new memories and hear some great new music.
2. The ‘other’ bits and bobs
To help the performers create the most epic party atmosphere, there is a lot more going on at Lovebox to help keep you happy. As well as the main stage, you can take a trip to the Elrow stage - which will be hosting a “carnival in Brazil” with their resident DJ’s George Privatti, Andres Campo and De La Swing -, Tropiskarnival bandstand where were reggae meets brass, the Corona Sunset stage, the Kopparberg urban forest, Jose Cuervo’s tequila town (hmm… we’re starting to see a theme here…)
As well as the music, there’s the bump roller disco, fashion and beauty boutiques, cocktail bars and street food and… tightrope walking? Well, whatever else they can come up with, count us in.
3. Very important people
This year, the folks at Lovebox are treating their VIP guests to an experience inspired by the colours and characters of Miami Beach – think palm trees, catchy beats and all round good vibes.
These lucky people will be able to catch exclusive sets at the South Beach Shaker Club, including a special hip-hop set from Goldie, Dutch duo Fouk making an appearance on Saturday and plenty of underground and upcoming acts.
There will also be the chance for some summer dining and drinks with street food coming from some of London’s finest restaurateurs. It get any better than that?
The whole experience will make you feel as if you’re rollerblading in the sun whilst in the company of other very important, awesome people, so if you’re down for that, you can check out some more info about VIP tickets here http://loveboxfestival.com/vip /.
4. The history
Before Lovebox developed into the festival we all know and love, it started off as a casual conversation about the rise of the London party scene between Lovebox’s own Jooles and electro legends Groove Armada.
In 2002, Lovebox existed as a party in an old strip club off Tottenham Court Road but then became so big that it started to sell out 2 weeks in advance. It then grew to be a one day event on Clapham Common before finally growing big enough to be hosted in Victoria Park in 2005. And since then, they’ve never looked back.
So obviously, this is one fest that is good at what it does – and what it does is give you all the best acts around. And, although it’s no longer a Groove Armada thing, it still has lots of approval and love from dance royalty, so you can be sure the folks at Lovebox will do their best to give you one of the best weekends of the summer.
5. Tickets are in high demand
Tickets for this year’s Lovebox have been selling like mad and so quickly that they are now on their 4th release. That’s a lot of party-goers at the ready!
A weekend ticket for the fest will cost you just £93 – we know, all this for under £100? It’s pretty unbelievable (and a very tempting bargain). If you only fancy going for a day then you’ll only need to shell out around £65 to just see the acts you’re really interested in.
Or, if you were tempted by the VIP experience, you can be treated like royalty for a weekend for only £138.50.
Like we said, tickets are going fast, so head on over to http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ lovebox now!
