KOKO London

Located on the trendy Camden high street, KOKO is a London club and music venue making a big name for itself. Specialising in unpretentious fun and late night revelry, KOKO has become a real favourite with London's party people. Having established a number of regular nights as well as hosting unique music events, the nightclub has enjoyed considerable success and continues to pull in the magical combination of large, energetic crowds and high profile acts. However, KOKO is much more than your standard nightclub. Doors open early Sunday to Thursday (you can go in any time from 7pm) and the club boasts a roof terrace where you can go for drinks overlooking Camden. With roof terrace parties being all the rage at the moment, with a whole host springing up nationwide, KOKO is certainly sticking with the trend. This makes for a lovely early evening visit and is the perfect way to begin your night before heading downstairs for a gig or an event.

The roof terrace is not the venue's only attraction. KOKO houses a building formerly known as Camden Palace, a former theatre. Much of the splendour of this bygone era remains and the venue still very much looks like a traditional theatre making for a fantastically grand setting for their events. The only substantial change to the fabric of the building has been the removal of much of the seating; an essential move to allow punters to throw some serious shapes to the likes of Todd Terje, Stormzy, Madlib and Congo Natty; all artists to have played the venue. For full details of upcoming events, please visit http://www.koko.uk.com/listing s.There are a real eclectic mix of artists who have played at the venue and, at some point, there will have been something on to suit anyone's taste. Artists booked to play the venue hail from a very diverse range of genres and places, as you would expect from a high profile venue in what must be one of the most musically diverse cities in the world.

Whilst the gigs that take place at KOKO often have a curfew of around 11pm, the venue hosts regular nights that go on until 4am. The 'Club NME' nights often begin with live music; normally two bands will play early on, and then the venue's own DJs will keep the party going late into the night. For students with valid ID, entry is a bargain at only £4. VIP packages for 25 people cost between £200 and £500. Unless otherwise specified, events are strictly 18+. KOKO is located a short walk away from Mornington Crescent tube station (Northern Line) and Camden Town tube station is only a little further away.
