LoveBox Lowdown

London is the home of Big Ben, decades of history and our dear Queenie. You’d never think a festival would take place in the heart of East London, would you? On July 17th-18th The Lovebox festival, which famously grew out of a nightclub in 2002, is back to shake the park animals of London.

The line-up is insane. Seriously, where will you find Rudimental, Snoop Dog, Jessie Ware, MK, Hot Chip and Skepta playing in one place again? Well, you won’t. That’s not all, the talented Mark Ronson, who’s worked with Amy Winehouse (jealous), is performing a DJ set. Also upcoming star Ella Eyre, who has taken over the UK charts, will bring her fierce voice and crazy hair to the stage. There are so many performances across the weekend, you’ll definitely want to book time off work to see not just dance acts but indie and pop too.

VIP. The three letters we love to see on our tickets. At Lovebox this year, the VIP area takes inspiration from the neighbourhoods of Paris in the late 1800s. Expect velvet and glittering mirrors people. Not only that but you get an exclusive programme, luxury toilets, a cocktail bar, fast track entry and your own VIP area. So do whatever you have to do, get a bigger student loan, sell your hair- anything to get VIP at Lovebox.

Food- the beautiful word that unties every one of us. There is a Nando’s, yep you read that correct, Voodoo Ray’s that make the tastiest pizza or if you want some sweet Spain, get churros at Los Churros Amigos. There’s Mexican, hot dogs, burgers, cupcakes, lollipops, a jerk station, pancakes and tea. We couldn’t call is a Brisitsh festival without tea, could we?

Some of you will be glad to hear that there’s no camping. That may alarm others. Try online to find spare rooms for the night or a cheap hotel nearby. You’ll only be sleeping and showering for one night, won’t you? If it’s Kumbaya around a campfire you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you’re a city person who needs a out of the city break that’s not far you can stay and go to Lovebox. There are still tickets left!
