Frenchs Bar in Hastings was the first licensed premises in Robertson Street, Hastings. It was known back in 1851 as the Royal Standard Hotel and cost the princely sum of £1500 to build. Many local dignataries during the 1800's frequented the premises and even Countess Waldgrave became involved around the vicinity of the premises to get permission to build the Holy Trinity Church.
