About this Event

New album ‘Marble Skies’ to be released on January 26th

“A fizzing, furious new wave and disco mash-up.” - NME

“A giddy track fizzing with nervous energy.” - 4*, The Sun

“The galloping guitars and harmonies recall their first album” - The Times

Hot on the heels of announcing the January 26th release of their forthcoming album ‘Marble Skies’, sonic adventurers Django Django today announce details of a new UK and European tour. Always an incendiary live experience, these dates represent their first full tour here since 2015 and includes a London show at arguably the capital’s newest and most exciting venue The Printworks. Tickets will go on pre-sale at 10am this Wednesday 25th October and on general sale at 10am on Friday 27th October and will be available from the band’s website.

In addition to the album announcement, Django Django also shared the first single, Tic-Tac-Toe, which has made a flying start at radio, being added instantly to the A-list at 6 Music.

The track is accompanied by a video courtesy of John Maclean, brother of Django Django drummer/producer David Maclean and director of the critically acclaimed modernist western ‘Slow West’. The director explained, “The film could be about the fading era of the beach arcades, time moving too fast, love and games, horror and happiness but it is actually about a man who needs to go buy a pint of milk to make a cup of tea.”

After the brilliant, rave-shaped grooves and expansive arrangements of its predecessor, ‘Marble Skies’ is a more concise and focused offering which recalls the dynamic, genre-blurring music of their debut. It’s a return to form; an album which finds them returning to the handmade, cut-and-paste approach of the past.

‘Marble Skies’ is currently available to pre-order in a variety of digital, vinyl and CD configurations including a rare signed vinyl test pressing that’s limited to just ten copies. Rough Trade are retailing exclusive 2CD and 2LP editions which add six dub mixes courtesy of roots and reggae producer Wrongtom. All pre-order details can be found at http://smarturl.it/PreMarbleSkies.

Django Django will play a handful of small festival dates in Scotland and France next month before embarking upon the following headline dates after the release of ‘Marble Skies’:
