GATEKEEPER (Skull Disco, Punch Drunk)

An influential Bristol pioneer, Gatekeeper’s array of releases span a crucial era of electronic music's development in Bristol and beyond. His deep, melodic and groove focused productions led him to collaborate with Appleblim for his first 12” release on the now legendary Skull Disco label, followed up by a solo 12” release on Peverlist’s Punch Drunk imprint. With tracks featured on the Soul Jazz compilation Steppas’ Delight and Tempa’s Dubstep Allstars #6, it’s safe to say he has done the rounds and made a lasting impression, and we can’t wait to hear what he brings to the session.

GOOSENSEI (Listening Sessions, Dubs Alive)

Hailing from Birmingham, Goosensei is coming to lay down a diverse selection of sound system culture’s finest cuts alongside a number of his own productions. As co founder of Listening Sessions, an event focused on showcasing local producer’s work on proper sound systems, he is playing an active and important role in the musical community. His 7 track EP ‘Summon’, released on Dubs Alive Records in 2014, has been said to ‘transport the listener to a temple of deeply dubwise bass music’ and he carries on this vibe throughout the 4 releases we’ve seen from him in 2015. With more on the way this year, we are looking forward to sneaking in a listen to some percy dubplates and forthcoming bangers.

Revinyl Sessions have an open-deck, open-genre policy so anyone can bring down whatever wax they're feeling, with special guests thrown in for good measure. Our aim is to bring people together through an appreciation of the vinyl format. It doesn't matter if you don’t have much experience, the Revinyl Sessions aim to be a platform for people to go from bedroom DJ to playing out more regularly.
