The Yazatas

The Yazatas are one of those enigmatic bands that are impossible to easily define. Their clean fusion of soul, jazz and alternative rock marks a clear break with the effects driven sound of most contemporary bands on the London circuit.

Jezmond Farren is the singer guitarist for the band. In his words he endeavours to write songs that transcend genre through their primary focus on a melodic journey.

Zehy Aldhabari masterfully moves from shuffling brush rhythms through to rockier beats with tremendous poise and precision.

Zak Dajani is a bass player with experience playing most styles of music. Being a songwriter in his own right his counter melodies add an extra dimension to the music that keeps the audience on their toes.

They list their influences as Dave Brubeck, Joe Morello, Billy Cobham, The Incredible String Band, Pixies, David Bowie and Heitor Villa-Lobos

Gnawa Shifa

A master musician or "teacher" of the Gnaoua tradition, Amine Lagnawi hails from the ancient city of Fez in western Morocco. He is a hereditary Gnaoua born into a musical family descended from slaves who developed

Gnawa music to keep a record of their history and to help each other survive.

The Gnawa are descendants of Sudanese slaves who were imported to Morocco by Arab traders around the 12th century to help build the Arab empire. The Gnaoua Sufi brotherhood exists to pass on this history. It is also the music of ecstasy and healing, and the Gnaoui use their musical powers to treat disease and exorcise evil spirits of African descent.

Amin was trained in the arts of Gnawa by his father and by other men, and he has been playing and performing since the age of three since his early childhood.

Indigo Gypsies

A collection of crazy mother funkers who meld together modern digital sounds with vintage analog ones to create new memories of nostalgia, peppering soulful shades of violet, lilac, fuchsia and indigo into their funking rock blues. Their funky rhythms and improvisational riffs are sure to astound you!!!

DJ Alexander Van Peterkin

Alexander will be performing in London at the Notting Hill Arts Club as part of his current world tour. He favours more ambient and melodic songs than most DJ’s, making a name for himself in Ibiza as part of the Acoustic House music movement. Alex has since played huge parties in Switzerland, Croatia, Brazil and Paris, picking up disco and jazz elements along the way. Don’t miss this chance to see him blowing up the London House scene on Thursday 10th August!

Ese and the Vooduu People

A transcultural band that embodies spiritual connection through their electrically charged soul and jazz-infused rock-n-roll. Frontwoman and guitarist Ese heard ‘Voodoo Child’ by Jimi Hendrix, and never looked back. Being London born with a West African background, elements of traditional spirituality had as much of an influence on her as grunge, hip-hop and r'n'b.
