•M•U•X• Album Launch Party

24/03/2016

About this Event

Full Line Up: •M•U•X•, Freddie, Fighting with Kites, The Recoupes, Emma-lee shepherd

This March sees •M•U•X• release their debut album, so to celebrate in style, promoters Absent Kelly are helping them to throw an album launch party to remember.

•M•U•X• are a London five piece that haven’t been together long, but their brand of psychedelic Indie Rock is already gaining them attention across the South East after successful shows at Denmark Street’s Alleycat, the O2 Academy in Islington and The Horn in St Albans, which has previously played host to some big names, including Toploader, A and Beans On Toast to name a few. The band's debut EP ‘Nightmare’ was a great glance into what the band are capable of and this first full length offering is set to really put the band on the map.

Providing support is Freddie. Freddie is a London based songstress blessed with a distinct vocal identity. Freddie delivers female fronted power pop reminiscent of Blondie, Transvision Vamp and Avril Lavigne but with a modern Vaccinne-esque twist for a bit of grit. Freddie featured on last year's V Festival Walkabout as well as numerous big name venues across the country from Camden's Dublin Castle to Guildford's Boileroom. With such a catchy sound, we're sure Freddie will go far!

Fighting With Kites will also be there. This quartet, hailing from Berkshire and Clapham, play guitar driven Alt/Indie. Poppy and melodic in places and heavy and gritty in others, Fighting With Kites are no strangers to catchy hooks or infectious guitar riffs and they’re far more than your normal bedroom guitar band and proved so on the stages on many of London's best renowned stages, including the O2 Academy in Islington! The band’s latest EP came last year and, if you’ve not already had it on repeat for about a month, we thoroughly suggest you give it a listen!

We’ll also be joined by The Recoupes. The Recoupes play noughties Indie at it’s best, with catchy guitar riffs a plenty and bags of energy! The band’s debut EP was released just before Christmas to much acclaim and it’s evidence of the band’s fantastic songwriting, with song after song that you just can’t wait to hear live. The band have already played a number of stalwart London venues including the Good Ship and Alleycat and are raring to get back to the O2 Academy after a storming show there last year.

Opening the show is Emma-Lee Shepherd, a young singer-songwriter from Birmingham that fuses together elements of Indie, Calypso, Swing and New-Wave guitar licks, to produce something very special and unique. She's already got quite a name for herself on her local scene, but is now looking to take the Capital by storm.
