Absent Kelly Introducing: Points
About this Event
Full Line Up: Points, Mosaic, Pipeline, Rupert Roberts, Kat Reyes
Our residency at the pride of King's Cross, Surya, continues this Spring, starting with a bill chock full of absolute Indie loveliness.
Topping the bill is Points. This Hertforshire quartet are purveyors of Alt/Indie with a Mathy edge. Dark and atmospheric in places and bright and anthemic in others, it's amazing how quickly these guys have found their strong and confident sound, having only been playing together less than six months! We're certain big things are on the horizon for this fledgling band!
After impressing promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show, Mosaic are back. Mosaic are an Indie Pop five piece, hailing from Guildford where the band are all studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music. Despite having only played together for a short time, their music conveys a confidence that is rarely seen this early on in a band’s career. Their debut EP offers up four beautifully crafted nuggets of perfect Indie Pop and it’s this sound that has bagged them offers of slots on the stages of some of the Capital’s most well renowned underground venues, including the Underbelly, 229 and Proud. This is definitely a band to keep an eye on.
Pipeline will be there too. Joining us from Oxford for the show, this four piece who play Alt/Indie with a a lo-fi feel in places and a grungy touch in others. The band already have quite a name for themselves on their local scene after numerous gigs at well renowned venues, but now want to branch out and are ready to take the Capital by storm. We're sure they'll impress!
Also providing support is Rupert Roberts. London based Rupert will be joined by his backing band for the evening, playing his brand of Alternative, Electronic Indie. The band's sound is ambient and incredibly atmospheric and sounds incredibly competent considering the band have not been playing together long. 2016 is set to be Rupert's year.
Opening the show is Kat Reyes. Kat is a London songstress that plays country tinged Indie Pop and her gorgeous, delicate voice has seen her bag slots on the stages of some of the Capital’s most well renowned underground venues so far, including Proud Camden, the Seabright Arms and the Barfly and has even bagged her some airplay on Nambucca Radio for her latest single, ‘Unkind’.
