Football is coming… to Leeds

Leeds is best known for a messy night out at the best of times. This much is true. Add the *Euros* to this hedonistic-Yorkshire-based cocktail of a pub crawl and you’ve got yourself one of the worst hangovers you’ve had since outdoor hospitality returned at the stroke of midnight on 12th April.

If this sounds like your idea of a good time, then look no further. We’ve gathered a whole host of great venues, to make watching England inevitably lose at the last minute, more palatable.

1. The Myrtle Tavern

This Meanwood-based watering hole is putting on a bit of an extravaganza for the Euros this year. I guess they’re making up for lost time. The Myrtle Tavern is hosting a ‘VIP festival of football’ this summer, screening every Euro 2020 game in opulent detail - there’s a mega 7 x 3 metre screen and 50 VIP benches, with tickets costing *£100*. If you have the cash to splash, 12 bottles of beer and six packets of crisps are included, with seats reserved after the game to you can have the privilege of eating here too!

Secure your spot here.

2. Walkabout

Walkabout is a tried-and-tested hotspot for sports fan. So, I guess it’s not surprising that it’s becoming a bit of a shrine to European football tournaments over the next months. Walkabout is going all-out for the Euros with a host of big screens showing all the matches, and a whole load of football-themed offers too. If you want tasty burgers, refreshing cold pints, all encased within a chilled-out Australian vibe, then look no further.

3. The Box

The Box is a cool spot, and they’ve just opened a new venue in Leeds, this time in Chapel Allerton. With an outdoor terrace, a whopping 14 ultra-HD screens plus another huge LED on its newly refurbished outdoor terrace, and a bar absolutely swimming in beer steins, The Box has everything that you could possibly want to watch the Euros this summer. Get this – they’re also offering bottomless brunch deals to hungry (and thirsty) footie fans.

Check it out here.

4. Cuckoo

Cuckoo proudly proclaims themselves to be the best party bar in Leeds city centre. It’s a bold claim, but we sure we know what they’re doing. With the most-Instagrammable cocktails on Call Lane, tasty bar food, and great music, we’d be happy to watch the Euros here to get a bit more of a party vibe. After all, it’s been too long, eh?

Walk-ins and bookings are welcome here!

5. The Royal Armouries

Leeds locals might be a bit confused as to why The Royal Armouries made our list of the top spots in Leeds to catch the game. However, prepare to be impressed – The Royal Armouries is currently prepping to be transformed into a 'festival of football', with each game preceded by an extravagant 3-course meal, special guest speakers, and live entertainment, including acclaimed comedian Jed Stone.
