Nozstock Revisited; Second Wave of Acts Released

With Nozstock Festival returning to its beautiful Herefordshire location this July (21st to the 23rd) for the 19th year running and a new group of acts having been recently released, we thought it best to provide a follow up revealing what else is to come. With flourish the festival was impressively shortlisted for a whole host of awards for its 2016 performance. Raising the stakes, the organisers are striding to outdo last years fest with a line-up that is getting more exciting with each new wave of acts being released. Here is a brief run through of which new artists you can expect to enjoy this July. The Music

Across nine stages a whole host of acts are set to keep you entertained through the last weekend of July. To keep you in the loop, here are Nozstock 2017’s most recently released acts. American hip-hop legends The Sugarhill Gang will be perfoming. Viewed as a fundamental element in influencing the early hip-hop scene and its move into mainstream culture in the 1970s, the group are famed with the 1979 hit ‘Rapper’s Delight’. With the first rap single to make Top 40 to their names and decades in the spotlight, the group have undeniable relevance. Credited as the creators of unique fusion genre ‘rockgrass’ American rockers Hayseed Dixie (a play on AC/DC) will be appearing this July. The group made their name covering hard rock classics in their own hillbilly-esque style alongside their own satirical material. As of April they have 15 studio releases under their belts. We look forward to their unique idiosyncratic style debuting at Nozstock. Levelz, a group consisting of an eclectic union of MCs, DJs and production enthusiasts will be performing. The collective has been compared to a mad fusion of Wu Tang Clan and the Happy Mondays. With so many far reaching sources of inspiration, you can expect from them a set of vibrant sounds that cross genres. English six piece Ferocious Dog will be bringing their characteristic sound encompassing folk, punk, Celtic rock and reggae in what should be a full on experience.

Satirical wordsmiths Goldie Lookin’ Chain will also be making an appearance. The Welsh comedic rap group will keep you entertained with their acerbically sharp, often controversial but always hilarious lyrical take on the current consumer culture that underpins all of our lives. The Baghaddies’ will be playing a set that should satisfy any folk/world music fan. The group has been described as a ‘Balkanistic boogie’ band but have touches in Caribbean groves, rhythms synonymous with Eastern music and more. These acts are only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what is to come this July so please do yourself a favour and check out the complete line up; a link can be found bellow. On top of all these acts, this year organisers are excited to announce a brand new stage ‘Elephant’s Grave’. The cosy inviting wooded enclosure with overhead canopy will be adjancent to one of Nozstocks lakes. The stage will host softer sounds in the daytime with reggae, dancehall and rocksteady rhythms but will perk up at night with a heavier house/ techno atmosphere.
