Field Day Festival 2017

Now in its 11th year we at Licklist HQ are excited to announce Field Day festival returning to East Londons’ Victoria Park this summer for one day only. With a line-up of massive acts already announced it is safe to start getting excited for what should prove to be one of the biggest days of summer 2017. On top of this, organisers have announced that this years fest will premiere a new outdoor/indoor stage arena aptly named ‘The Barn’. The new arena is kitted out with the latest sound tech available as well as top range lighting equipment to fuel your festival experience billed to rival the main stage. To get you in the festival mood lets briefly run through who will appearing this June the 3rd for you lucky people.

Line-up

Though in previous years organisers have billed hard to beat big names such as PJ Harvey, Caribou, Skepta and the Pixies, this year’s event is shaping up not too shabbily in comparison. Top of the bill, Flying Lotus is an act known to most. The producer, DJ and electronic extraordinaire is in charge of the label Brainfeeder with which he has released acts such as Thundercat, Kasami Washington and DJ Paypal over the last year alone. Outside of this impressive resume he has five studio albums to his name. Gracing us with his presence far away from his Los Angeles routes expect an exceptional ahead of the curve performance.

 Experimental Hip-Hop duo Death Grips are billed to play a set from 12.00. All the way from California the group combine a range of styles including hip hop, punk, electronic and industrial in their revolutionary trademark perfomances. Having been described as “the first truly important band of the twenty-first century” in 2015 (The Skinny Magazine) we look forward to what they do with their set.Even more is to come with an exclusive London performance from Berlin act Moderat as well American electronic maestro Nicolas Jaar’s only live UK set of the 2017. Also performing this year are synth enthusiasts S U R V I V E of the back of the worldwide fame following their hypnotic soundtrack to Netflix success ‘Stranger Things’.

Get your world music needs catered for by icon King Sunny Ade, a uniquely talented Nigerian that offers a high standard of artistry with every performance. Be there for the return of old school shoegaze rock acts Ethel, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizad, Flamingods and Imardhan.
