My initial impression was one of horror. The atmosphere was awful, the prices for food were absurd, and the whole bar had a strange rotten smell to it (it smelled like the bin hadn't been taken out, though I hope this was only temporary). Service was poor and disinterested, with a very limited selection of beers and no real ales. I couldn't believe that such a poor-looking place was pretending to masquerade as a high-quality gastropub by its prices and menu - it's nothing of the sort. We had one round of drinks in here, then went up the road to the Assembly House. That might not be a perfect venue in itself, but it was infinitely preferable to spending any more time in this dump. Avoid at all costs. Also note that many of the reviews of this place were pre-refurb (when it was Annies Porter House). Take a look at some of the more recent ones on Beer in the Evening and you'll see that it's not just me having a moan - this place is bad.
