Secretsundaze Day & Night Birthday Party

26/08/2017

About this Event

On Saturday 26th August we limber up for another celebration of music and life with an 18-hour day into night special at Oval Space. Our beloved party which is one of the longest running in the capital and surely in the country shows no signs of letting up, 2017 has already been a strong year with all parties so far absolutely firing!

Residents DJs Secretsundaze have had a busy year with the label championing releases from Fred P, Solune and DJ Slyngshot to name a few. Their monthly NTS show is gaining some great momentum and they have still managed to fit in high profile gigs at Panorama Bar, Gottwood festival and of course their recent huge off Sonar parties in Barcelona.

All the way from the D we have none other than Marcellus Pittman. A regular guest at the party for many years Marcellus always comes correct with his unique twisted, funked-up brand of boogie, disco, house and techno played with his usual swagger. His releases are few and far between, but always anticipated and always stand out.

Making his Secretsundaze debut we are stoked to have Sadar Bahar play. Born and raised in Chicago, Sadar is a larger than life figure that has grown in popularity of late, shooting up the ranks to become an essential in many of Europe's more musically minded festivals and clubs. He is a true digger unearthing many hidden gems for his sets and we are looking forward to welcome him.

Fast rising London based, Leeds born Bradley Zero makes a return visit to Secretsundaze. Getting his face known to many via hosting Boiler Room it's his work on his Rhythm Section imprint and his radio show of the same name on NTS that has marked him out as a tastemaker for his generation. The label has of course released the likes of Henry Wu, Al Dobson Jr and Chaos in the CBD.

Early arrival for the daytime session on the terrace is essential as we have picked two fine DJs that are suitably experienced to soundtrack the afternoon. Nick The Record has quietly been doing his thing for many years. In the UK he is perhaps best known as a go to record dealer based in Brighton but he is a deadly DJ that is perhaps most highly regarded in Japan where he has legendary status after playing for many, many years particularly at the Life Force parties. Joining Nick will be Donna Leake from Brilliant Corners. Donna has exemplary taste in music across the board and her Boiler Room set and covering for Floating Points' NTS show alongside her sometime DJ partner Mafalda has demonstrated.

All artists will play extended sets to maximise the party pressure! We have also decide to throw our birthday on the Saturday this year so make a note in your diaries (it of course gives you an extra day to recover!). The scene is set for another fantastic birthday party on this bank holiday weekend. You know what to do!
