It brings us happiness in huge proportions to welcome Von Grall, one of three On the 5th Day headliners to hit Corsica Studios on 1st September. Von Grall’s is a sound which had us mesmerised from the moment we first discovered this intriguing Paris-based artist and for us, he is probably one of the most underrated producers out there (in the sense that not a lot of people seem to know about him, yet). Once you do find yourselves engrossed in his work (released on the likes of Semantica Records, Planet Rhythm and Midgar Records) then it’s almost impossible to turn your attention elsewhere. A full on, unshakeable lock-in is guaranteed as his characteristic warm melodies, heady soundscapes and trippy rhythms begin to trickle through your body and mind. It goes without saying then that Von Grall’s creative outputs could be considered as some of the most unique and exemplary out there – if you like it spacey, trippy and deep – always rich in feeling and consistently bringing into existence elements, sounds and frequencies which interact with one another in a ritualistic dance, carrying you through fully detached from anything other than the soundwaves that infiltrate your ears. Meditation by techno, we like to call it. Behind the decks, Von Grall is a true master and his creative core and vision, illustrated through his productions, translates across to his sets with beautiful ease, and powerful effect – exactly why he was a total no brainer for us. For On the 5th Day, Von Grall is exactly the kind of artist we like to bring to the forefront of things and his early set on the 1st is not to be missed.



Par Grindvik



In our eyes there are only a handful of artists who can step in after an SNTS live set and not only do the job, but do it beautifully, and with impact of equal measure. Techno veteran, Par Grindvik, take a bow. A core figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s, owning a record store, managing a label and formulating a never-ending library of unrivalled productions, his impressive artistic career has earned him global recognition and credibility. More importantly for us, his unique, highly skillful and dynamic DJ sets radiate devotion, considerable experience and dexterity and since launching On the 5th Day, we have been quietly waiting in the shadows for the perfect line-up to present itself, at which point we sprung forth triumphantly and seized the opportunity to lock him in. Placing Par after an emotionally brutal performance from SNTS made perfect sense to us and we have no doubts he will round of proceedings in the most perfect of ways. All hail Par!

So this may be SNTS' third booking with us in less than a year but seriously, can you blame us?! Aside from the fact he never fails to deliver a crushingly stunning performance, for us the mighty masked one made perfect sense on this particular line-up, sandwiched between two incredible artists who are recognised for the feeling they induce through their music and DJ sets, in their own individual ways, thus all to undoubtedly amplify a particular something something in one another. When he's not globe-hopping and capturing the hearts, minds and bodies of revellers the world over, SNTS is locked into his studio, either working on his own releases or more recently, working on a new movie trailer project with Split Music. There's no stopping his creativity, and there's also not a lot more that we can say ... If you know, you know, and if you don't know, join us and find out... SNTS is a sincerely treasured 5th Day regular and we can't wait to welcome him back.
