THINK FAST! IT’S SLAM DUNK ’17

What do we have in common with LeBron James? Our deep and abiding love of strawberry lemonade Bubblicious, of course (remember when he sponsored it back in, like, ’05?) and our obsession with Slam Dunk! The festival, that is. Taking place over May Bank Holiday Weekend, it’ll be a crazy combination of headline artists, new talent, and niche names you can use to impress dates (‘I mean, I don’t work in the music industry, but ...’).

Location, Location, Location

Slam Dunk is spread over three venues, for one day each. Birmingham NEC hosts the festival on the 27th, Leeds City Centre takes over on the 28th, and Hatfield Forum brings it to a finish on the 29th.

Who’s Playing?

The question on everybody’s lips. This year’s Slam Dunk has an inimitable line-up in store, with acts including Goldfinger, The Bronx, Citizen, and The Ataris. Looking to Bowl for Soup or Stray from the Path? You’ll be going to the right place!

Will I See My Fave Artists?

Stressed that Don Broco/Cute is What We Aim For/Tonight Alive won’t be taking the stage at your location? Never fear! All bands will play all three days. Don’t think you’ll miss out on your idols! We wouldn’t let that happen. Alternatively, you can speed over to each site and catch your musical messiahs as many times as you’d like (until the festival is over, of course — unless you can convince them to organise a private show).

 Battle of the Bands

If, like us, you’re a diehard School of Rock aficionado, you’ll know that band competitions aren’t something to take lightly. Slam Dunk is holding one of their very own — with details to come — and the winners will play at the festival! If you think you’ve got what it takes, keep the mics hot and stay tuned for further information.

We know we’ve got some time, but we’re already planning our Slam Dunk festival attire. (Would a Michael Jordan novelty jersey be too obvious?) We hope to see you there — the ball’s in your court!
