Parklife 2017: Be There

Parklife 2017: Be There

As the premier collection of the country’s most in touch, the guys at Licklist would like to open your eyes to an opportunity for mud, music and mayhem. From 10-11th of June, Parklife festival will host a group of the hottest acts around; and any self-respecting 17+ would be mad not to get yourself down there. The festival, housed in the Heaton Park ( a previous spot for gigs by Manchester legends Oasis and The Stone Roses) has cut its way into the spotlight in recent years with its hard to beat line ups, diverse day time activities and so much more. As a convenient insight both into the Manc culture and a music catalogue with edge, the Parklife weekend is one shining opportunity for an engaging couple of days.

With last year’s line-up hosting such acts as The Chemical Brothers, Ice Cube and Major Lazer it seems hard to believe that this years can possibly be any better. And yet the organisers seem to have endless surprises left for the avid UK music enthusiast.

Acts to Get Excited About…

This year’s acts cater to all of your different varied tastes. If you are looking to get messy to some classic beats, the Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and other sets at the Hanger area are not worth missing. If your tastes are more swung towards smooth rock then on the Parklife Stage, The 1975 and London Grammar will be among the indie acts continuing high profile streaks of success at Parklife this year. More into the rapidly expanding UK grime scene? Then you best join the tracksuit clad army going to see acts like Boy Better Know and Giggs at the Temple area, dropping some of the best grime around. Hip hop too has its prominent place at Parklife, this year represented by A Tribe Called Quest among others gracing us with their presence from the USA. While there are so many more acts worth noting, there just isn’t time enough in the world so get yourself to the Parklife homepage (parklife.uk.com) to check out the full line up.

Want a Taste of the High Life…

Boost yourself up to a VIP ticket and enjoy the luxury experience that Parklife has to offer its first and foremost. While it is easy to sneer at those not roughing it the traditional way, the endless perks might make you rethink. Be treated to secret sets, no queuing and luxury toilets that most wouldn’t dream could be part of a festival experience. Gorge yourself on high end food and luxury cocktails while watching exclusive performances for some of your favourite acts. Fancy a quick break from the mania of the festival experience. Chill out with massage, retro gaming and your own personal cinema all housed within a recreated homage to 1980s downtown New York City.
